District Cars were formerly estabilished in Selsdon in 1996 and quickly became a formidable force in the taxi business.
We were the first company that used the larger booted Vw caravelle Minibuses which again put us leagues ahead of all our rivals including those with 5 times the amount of vehicles we had they took a while to crasp that customers would like to travel with all of there party and luggage and not just in people carriers which was the norm in the area, others soon began to see our success and then simply followed our lead.
Since estabilishing the company the two directors with a combined experienced of over 50 years look at other ways to expand and improve the business,when forced to move because of building purchase they went to Sanderstead and again forged ahead into other areas of the business including Mini Bus and Coach Hire and even though they never owned a coach they sometimes had 10 such vehicles on hire with Loacal Businesses and schools.
All the time whilst at Sanderstead the company increased its driver Numbers and vehicle Fleet including our 16 Seater Range of vehicles. Eventually the Short term lease proved to inconvientant so we looked for other premises within the area ao as to maintain service to all previous areas.
Eventually we re-located to out present offices at Coulsdon South Train Station. And i believe to this day some of our original customers would not even know we had moved from our original premises which proves the point we are only as far away as the end of a telephone.
As all Private Vehicle Hire Companies have to be we are Fullt Licensed with the public carriage office as are all our drivers having undergone exstensive Ehanced CRB Checks.
