It will save you a great deal of time and effort and could be central to the success of your business. Grapeworks acts as the backbone of your publishing business. It records and controls all the tasks involved, including:
• recording free listings and ordering them for publication
• creating a database of advertising leads and contacts
• contact management - recording transactions
• recording sales
• managing copy and proofs
• accounts administration, invoices, statements etc
• recording distribution contacts and delivery planning
Data storage can be notoriously frustrating to use, and when setting up a new business there are far too many other things to worry about. Having a database that is used by a whole group to do a very specific job, and having technical support on hand meant that I could get started on the real business straight away and I was phoning clients and contacts within days of installing the system on my computer. Not only does it manage all my information, but does most of the bookkeeping, invoicing and so on for me.
